WELCOME to the NEW Doctors Opposing Circumcision website!
This has been a long-anticipated, collective effort that we hope will become the ‘go-to’ site for parents and medical professionals alike. The website team tried to combine up-to-date scholarly references with readable commentary that is easily accessible for both those new to the issue, and also veterans campaigning for intact children – male, female, and intersex.
I hasten to thank, foremost, Gillian Longley, RN, BSN, MSS, who has been our volunteer website team leader for the past year, through many weekly Skype sessions and endless emails and attachments. Her dedication and perseverance has been incredible – tirelessly communicating with the website team, encouraging authors and editors, writing and editing content as needed, and keeping the project on track.
The other team members who combined medical, visual, editing, and research expertise included me, John Geisheker, JD, LL.M; George Denniston, MD, MPH, founder of D.O.C.; along with James Loewen and Tim Hammond, whom many of you will know personally.
Generous donors who helped to finance the project included Robert Van Howe, MD, MS; Michelle Storms, MD; Mathias Masem, MD; Gabriel Symonds, MB, BS; Morrie Sorrells, MD; and Tom Hennen, JD.
We could not have pulled this site together without the valuable help and support of our contributors, reviewers, and technical assistants, who include the following individuals (apologies for any inadvertent errors or omissions):

Our patient webmistress is Ritama Haaga, of Ritama Design, Seattle, WA, who remains an ongoing source of assistance as the site is updated periodically.
I invite you to take a poke around the site and feel free to make suggestions for changes, improvements, and corrections (through our new contact page). Any website is a work in progress, but especially on this important issue, one at the intersection of North American medicine and culture, and one which affects the health and safety of millions of children.
